My Tank Thread
I thought it might be interesting to start a thread to allow members to share an exceptional day. The good, the bad, the funny. Maybe you just want to vent, or allow us to share in a life changing event. Work, home, whatever. What do you think?
I'll start.
I work for a commercial linen service. Due to the recent flooding, we were asked last week to take on some of the extra volume that our plant that services the St Louis area was receiving. As production manager, it was my job to get it done. I brought my crew in early and worked them late all week. I really worked these people hard. Despite the extra workload, morale was high and attendance (which is always an issue) was exceptionally high.
Yesterday was our 2nd highest volume day of the week. We work Monday thru Friday. I couldn't believe how eager everyone was to get the job done. As one department got finished, people were volunteering to help in another department instead of starting their weekend. By the end of the day, it was almost like a party atmosphere. I couldn't be more proud of my crew! I feel like the coach after the big win.
Sometimes my job gets so frustrating I ask myself why I do it. Then I have a week like last week, and a day like yesterday in particular that makes it all worthwhile.
