I thought it might be interesting to start a thread to allow members to share an exceptional day. The good, the bad, the funny. Maybe you just want to vent, or allow us to share in a life changing event. Work, home, whatever. What do you think?
I'll start.

I work for a commercial linen service. Due to the recent flooding, we were asked last week to take on some of the extra volume that our plant that services the St Louis area was receiving. As production manager, it was my job to get it done. I brought my crew in early and worked them late all week. I really worked these people hard. Despite the extra workload, morale was high and attendance (which is always an issue) was exceptionally high.
Yesterday was our 2nd highest volume day of the week. We work Monday thru Friday. I couldn't believe how eager everyone was to get the job done. As one department got finished, people were volunteering to help in another department instead of starting their weekend. By the end of the day, it was almost like a party atmosphere. I couldn't be more proud of my crew! I feel like the coach after the big win.
Sometimes my job gets so frustrating I ask myself why I do it. Then I have a week like last week, and a day like yesterday in particular that makes it all worthwhile.

What an inspirational story. I love it when ppl pull together and showcase humanity at its best. Thank you for sharing.

My day’s been a train wreck. My baby, who’s usually down for the night by 7pm was up till past midnight last night because my 3 yr old son woke her up shortly after she’d fallen asleep and she decided sleep is for suckers. Just as I got her back down, my son woke up. He’d almost fallen off the bed. That literally has never happened before. But it’s all good. It’s not like mommies need sleep right? All awake and no sleep makes mom something something ...

Plenty of time for sleep when they go to college, right?;Yawn

That's a cool story. People really do pull together when needed, and really surprise you.

My day was ok. I dropped a 12 pack of shiner bottles in the middle of the local grocery store parking lot. The cardboard handle ripped. That was fun. Now I'm in the middle of doing lawn work. It's been raining crazy here, so I missed the nice big, grass-hidden pond and got a good soak-through from the lawnmower-meets-water explosion. All in all not as bad as it could be I guess.

Going to grill burgers and dogs tonight. I'll try not to set myself on fire.

I hope you replaced the shiners. You may need them before the day is over.

Just got in a car accident the other day. We were driving on the freeway and traffic went from 70 to 0 in seconds. The guys behind us wasn’t paying attention. My guess is he was on his phone and hit us going 70 and destroyed my gf car. Was in the hospital all night but all good now.

Oh my god! Sounds like you're lucky to be alive. At least no one was too seriously hurt.

I worked 12 hrs. Dealt with rain slowing down the guys. Wife got a lot of farm work done. I came home fed the fish and corals. I got out of the shower and she had dinner ready. She threw a brisket on the OK Joe.

Oh man, that looks GOOD!

Day was poo.Summer in the south means random and violent storms. Lightning hit a tree in my moms yard and dropped power lines on her house. My brothers car got swept away from a flash flood while at work.Dad just got admitted to the hospital to have his gallbladder removed. My grandmother fell and broke her knee cap.And while I was trying to go help my brother I fell down the 25ft stairs in my house and broke my tail bone.

When it rains it pours...
I need a beer

Mine was the pits. CEO of our company is out and the new CEO is moving HQ back to its original location which is several states away.

All in one day?! That's terrible. Sending our prayers for you and your family. I hope you got that beer. I need one after reading this, and it's only 7:00 AM.

Sorry to hear that. Does this mean there will be a new tank build in your future?
