How Will These Bulbs Look Together?

what's the fixture Reed?

fixture is just as important as the bulbs when it comes down to growth and things like that.

as for looks though- you'll get a fairly blue tank, with just a bit of the red/yellow spectrum, so more than anything you'll get a very blue look to the tank, which IMO is very nice. That said, I've never run one of those purple plus's, so not sure just how red they'll push out- too much red and I'm not interested, though your corals will prefer it.

Hope that's some help- please let us know the fixture and we can answer the other parts of your questions better!

The fixture is a ZooMed t5 24IN light fixture

Well i have decided that there is no point in upgrading the light fixture.

I would do an ati blue and ati blue special together, if it's only a 2 bulb fixture.

I tried out a combo of 2:1 blue plus to fiji purple once. Not exactly the same as you are proposing but for me it was way too pink. I would consider what dougers31 suggested for good color and growth.

Is your ficture a T5HO fixture? If not, the fixture will not run those bulbs. There is a difference between T5 and T5HO. They run on different ballasts and provide different amounts of PAR.
