Of all the hitchhikers I've been tru...this one is weird
Anyone know what it is? Reef safe? Or get rid of it? It's the widow spider looking egg sac thing on my fireworks polyps.
Thank you in Advance

Hummm ok. I'll Google it and see what I find. I'll share too

I say sponge too. Are the polyps around it new growth or were they open at some point? If they were open before the sponge may be something you'll have to get off the frag.

It's looked like this every time I look at it.
Is this video better?

Its a Sycon sponge and deemed reef safe. You may even see it pulse once in a while

I did just get the fireworks polyps this morning.... So they "may" still be adjusting. But I'll definitely keep an eye on them. Thank you

I'm not sure if OP's sponge is a Sycon sponge, as it does not feature any visible openings. It looks more like this "alien" sponge in my opinion... what do you think?:

By the way, I never knew pineapple sponges belonged to Sycon until I searched it up. Thanks @vetteguy53081!

This would be a syconoid which is a genus of sycon sponge
