I had one in my Solana for a while. It was good in concept, but any coral that was near its path got blasted too hard for my liking. I took it off and now just let my Vortech handle the variable flow. It probably works well when it is higher in the tank than the Solana and the flow has more distance to diffuse before hitting corals.

Yup i got one on my 29 bio cube....i have a split locline so that there are 2 outputs...1 has the hydor and 1 has the regular straight flow. This has helped ease the flow coming out of both. The only problem i have is they get clogged occasionally from my chaeto in the back and the coralline algae is slowing it down over time....but its over a 2 years old and kicking

Thanks for the input. So keep it clean and clog free:wink:

I just got a 12 gallon nano and put one on it. There's no corals in the tank yet, but I like the flow it creates.

I had a mj1200 as the return with the hydor and it kept blowing away the sand from the front of the tank. I just put back on the regular pump and the sand barely moves now and there's still plenty of flow. I also have a nano koralia in there too which helps. If you plan on putting sand in it, I recommend you don't use a 1200. It also heats up the tank a lot too.
