my new rank is to arrive soon, the IM ext 200. I have slowly been stocking up on items over the last 6 weeks and now that Black Fridays deals are here it’s time for lights.

I am looking at the AI hydra edge and unsure which to get. I do not plan on having sps in this tank. It will be zoas, mushrooms, soft corals and lps. From what I can tell most of them need a par of 100-200 so which lets would be better to help get that par across evenly on the entire tank? My thought is the 68 will provide too much towards the surface.

Thanks

Well the 44 is a 95 watt light, to give you some perspective I have a 100 watt light on my 32 gallon. The 68 is 135 watts and again for perspective I have a 150 watt light on my 40 gallon. I assume IM200 means a 200 gallon tank, so you need a lot of watts. i don't keep big tanks so I can't tell you exactly, but you need a few hundred watts. Do some searches on this forum I'm sure you'll get more info, here's one thread, good luck.

I figured it would take at least four of the 44’s and 3 of the 68’s. I just don’t want over kill of light and par. Nothing in the tank will need that much.
