Hydrochloric acid barrels safe containers?

I am looking for some containers to store my RO water, someone offered to give me a bunch of these 200L barrels previously containing hydrochloric acid for swimming pools. Im only guessing that they would be okay if rinsed out further and maybe given a littlw vinegar. Does anyone have any better knowledge?

I have 2 barrels used for the exact thing that are now used to grow tiger pods outside and no ill effects. Rinsed out really well, scrubbed real good with a 50:50 water/vinegar mix and then put into service.

Ya if anything they have already been acid washed lol.

They'll be fine, although using vinegar (a very weak acid) to clean Hydrochloric acid barrels is counterintuitive to say the least. If there is a need to neutralize the acid, baking soda will do the job just fine.

Yea that makes sense, i was more just worried about possible residue i guess

If you have Kalkwasser around, you could potentially use that to get rid of the residue as well, though it's much pricier than baking soda...

just to ask how would a Hydrochloric solution work for cleaning Dead Rock???
