Just use an Oxydator and be done with adding Hydrogen peroxide manually or via a doser. Safe and cost effective.

I was just planning to start dosing peroxide to battle some cyano in my reef tank. Could an oxydator help there as well or do i need the peroxide to do it's chemical reaction to kill the cyano? Also, is there one you can recommend for a 155gal tank?

it took months and i don’t know what exactly did it to honest, but when i did weekly water changes, dosed coral snow with microbac 7, it began to get better. Then, I started dosing microbacter clean as well. Again, completely anecdotal. First i had the red cyano and then the green, which took longer to clear.

I don’t like h202 except on frags or spraying a single rock only. Makes me think i’m wiping out too much of my micro biome

That's been my worry as well. I have been mixing up my own coral snow and ading MB7 for weeks now but the cyano just looks to be spreading/getting worse. I did the H2O2 test last night and the cyano in my cup turned green, so it's the regular kind. How often were you doing the coral snow? Anything else you did to get rid of the cyano? I have just been brushing and/or blowing it off the rocks and then doing my coral snow dose.

Are you dosing anything organic like vodka or vinegar? Cyano likes the organics in the water.

I wouldn't use hydrogen peroxide in a display tank, it's an indiscriminate oxidizer that will affect everything organic in the tank, including beneficial microbes. Limit excess organics as well as manual removal can help with Cyano.

Good luck!

Yes it does help eliminate cyno. For a 150gallon I would recommend the W model if you can accommodate it.

I don't dose anything but my homemade phyto and coralsnow/MB7
