Mixing station

I also keep on hand a full apex, 2 COR20’s, PMUP, and sensor on hand for spares or maintenance swaps.

Edit 5/22: The new 180 came damaged and is being replaced with a 96x24x21

Just placed an order for a Planet Aquarium 180G Rimless 72 1/2 X 24 1/2 X 25 with a Crystal front glass, black silicone, black background, and internal overflow. The tank will be my first bare bottom.

My current 120 also has an internal overflow it's intrusive and blocks flow. Going with an external would push the tank further into the room, this is a no go with my wife. My wife gave me a couple of rules for getting a new tank-

1. Nothing can hang from the ceiling
2. Tank can't intrude any further into the room.

I will be moving most of my equipment from my current 120G Planet Aquarium. Equipment list-

4 MP40's
2 ReefWave 45's
2 COR20's
5 G5 XR30's with RMS mounts
Neptune Apex with 2 power bars
Trident
1 DOS in cabinet
AWC fed from a DOS in the garage
ATK fed from garage
Bashsea Signature 48"
Dual BRS 300W heaters
Aqua UV 57W sterilizer
Royal Exclusiv Bubble King 200
Geo 618 calcium reactor, carbon doser, Versa feeding it, PM1 and PH probe

Ordered all new schedule 80 plumbing and a Caribsea tree life rock today. Heard back from Planet and the tank should be here in 3 weeks.

I cured all of my Life Rock before as I did a test and noticed phosphate leeching, anybody else notice the same?

Picked up a larger UV and 2 ReefWave 45’s from BRS. The DD Jumptop arrived damaged from the postal service and missing the bag of connectors.

Was just notified the glass is done and stand will be by end of week. Everything will be done a week earlier than expected. I’m local to Planet Aquarium so it should be here next week.

Just got the call, the tank will be here Friday evening. I will be temporarily placing it in the garage to set up all plumbing, build control cabinet underneath, flex seal cabinet, etc. Unfortunately, this tank will be going in the same place as the 120 so I will have to transfer everything to trash cans. This will be my first tank swap in place, do I need to match phosphates and nitrates for the new water?

Thanks

Well some good news after this tank mess, I will be getting a 209-gallon Crystalline instead with the same options. The overall dimensions are 96x24x21. Hopefully, I will like the shorter size, the new tank will be here tomorrow. I also bought a geo calcium reactor, carbon doser, and versa pump today

Did you get any push back with Planet about that seam? I imagine they saw it before shipping and probably that it was ok. Good to know how tank manufacturers handle these sorts of issues. If they took it back easily and are making it right, says a lot. I’m also gonna be receiving a new tank soon, so just curious what to expect.

I did not get any push back, in fact, they were more than fair in all of this. Small bubbles I can live with, this bubble was 1 3/4"s long on the front seem and didn't feel it was something I should be OK with on a new tank. I can tell you I was upgraded to a much more expensive tank for very little money as a new one was weeks out.

This is my second tank from them and they have always been great. I'll check out your build thread.

Good Luck!

Are you sticking with the white stand as well?
