Yes, it creates a more powerful surge than the other modes, but the intensity isn’t changeable. It did increase water temp, so now I have a fan on the tank, but I have a lot of light on it too. I really like the fact that it doesn’t take up as much room as a full gyre, but still puts out decent flow. The 50w one sticks out about 3” from the glass.

I’m not sure if they actually test that tbh. That’s one of the reasons I went with the 50w one. My tank is only 75 gallons and four foot long though.

I’ve used hygger gyre’s and I still have 4 on hand for emergency. I did end up upgrading to redsea wave 25’s for more control and flow options.

BUT hygger gyres are the smallest gyre pumps in the market. So it’s great for nano tanks and gives very gentle broad flows which is great.

That thing looks like its half the size of my icecap 2k gyres, and they are rated at 2000 gph.

Seems like the wider 25watt might be a better choice for bigger tanks.

2380 gph at full blast.

I’m thinking 2 on a 6’ 150. Wonder how much they would heat.

This was first time Ive seen a hygger pump without showing the flow rates. X.X

I think 50W for that tiny pump maybe a bit excessive (power consumption compare to the flow amount). When compared to to more flow with 25W model and its broader flow.
