Not sure about your refractometer, but the instructions that came with mine says to use RO/DI water for calibration.
What do your instructions say?

I talked to my shop the instructions. It was very accurate with Ro Di water I also have the other reflector meter as well and they both work about the same. So I will be going with RO from now on because there seems to be more risk with the calibration solution not be made correctly and if I’m ever concerned I will just take a sample of my lfs water to make sure I’m correct
