Sorry about your frustration.

There are more important things going on in the world right now and getting frustrated probably isn't doing anyone any good. Furthermore, I personally wouldn't be ordering any live stock let alone anything that was not family essential right now. Shipping regardless of carrier are changing protocols and things are bound to happen.

I wouldn't risk it now. I don't order live stock in the summer. And I don't order during certain months in the winter. All for this reason.

Yes I understand I am a nurse working in a hospital. Furthermore essential supplies like groceries can be delivered right to your door most major grocery stores deliver as well as Walmart DoorDash Favor and instantcart. Been buying locally due to the shipping logistics right now but found a piece I had been looking for for almost a year so I rolled the dice. Luckily it is a high of 75 degrees and a low of 68 degrees

Got a call back from UPS. The package will arrive back to the facility at 7:45pm for pick up tonight

Absolutely. Almost gave myself a stroke. Been looking for this piece for almost a year and finally found one up for auction so rolled the dice

Now production is ramping up and more goods are shipping. Then look at procedures changing. Signing, not signing, distance, etc. All plays a roll.

My main problem with UPS this delivery is the simple fact that they said delivery was attempted which it was not no ring of the doorbell no knock no nothing. Yep almost ripped them a new one and would do it again. They did not even attempt delivery. The good news however is that I get to pick up my package tonight at 7:45pm

I get the whole swamped pandemic ordeal, but it’s part of the job sometimes. I work in the utilizes. Want to ask the Members how I feel when a hurricane knocks out their power for weeks and I’m tired of working 16 hour SHIFTS (add travel to my actual day)? They don’t give a rats...They need their power back on and get irate to see me resting...For some of us utility workers, this mess happens each year.

Sometimes, you just got to buck up and reach deep to pull through. It’s dangerous work getting power back on, just as it is helping sick people. It’s part of the job. If I couldn’t handle it, I’d get out. My brother is a cop. Sometimes they get shot at, and sometimes they don’t go home. It’s part of the job.

I can’t tell you how many things I never got due to “delivery attempt made” when no signature was even required. I’ve had plenty where I’ll get a notification that an attempt was made while working in the front yard all day. Nobody ever even showed up.

Before.. all of this... (I miss those times) I ordered some corals, planned a date for them to ship when I was back in the country etc but I booked a while in advance and although I never forgot about the coral order I did forget about the weather... cue massive snow storm...

The result was the package wound't be delivered until the next day which was upsetting so I called and said I could drive to the place they we're being held but was told that wasn't possible and that I would have to wait until the next day for them to be dropped off at a local hub since the person I was talking too agreed that would be the fastest way to get them. I got to the hub at the time they assured me it would have to be there and it wasn't

After 20 some minutes of being on the phone trying to figure out what happened the agent told me that it was there but the driver made the unauthorized call to keep the package on the van and that he would only be able to bring it back in another 3 hours. at this point I just went to the LFS that I worked at and sat infront of the saltwater display tank to distract me and to calm me down a little.

When the time came I went back to the hub with my girlfriend (who had been with me the whole time) and when I got there my package was on the table with the delivery guy for a total of nearly 3 days in transit.

Did I try to strangle him? Nope (although I thought my girlfriend might). The driver saw that the package said perishable and figured that it was cold goods, the hub didn't have place for those so he thought it would be better off on the truck with him. It wasn't his call to make but at the end of the day it came from a good place, he was just trying to make sure my package got delivered in tact as best he could. I felt really bad for him, I could tell he was scared I would just be another person that was going to scream at him for not doing his job right. Obviously I didn't do that- I thanked him for trying his best and moved on.

throughout all the the people I spoke I was nothing but calm, respectful and understanding. None of these people we're specifically at fault for this happening and taking it out on them would be completely unfair not to mention accomplish nothing except ruing that persons day and leaving room for them to pass on that bitterness to other customers, friends, families etc and it certainly doesn't make them want to help you.

That is super frustrating! I ordered some coral before things got crazy and they made a delivery “attempt” and then immediate brought the package to a local pickup station. No calls, no knock, or anything... I was working from home that day expecting the delivery so it’s very unlikely I missed them. Very aggravating!

So I had to go to a local Walgreens as the pick rio station and the gal working there then dropped the box that says “fragile live animals” *face palm* I almost lost it but it wouldn’t change anything.

Deep breath

After that ... um... learning experience I’ll call it... I’ve made sure I waive signing for all coral deliveries.

Just had two acro frags dropped off by UPS today with no issues!

those drivers are delivering to a lot of nursing homes and hospitals so they can pay their rent and feed their families


@Thespammailaccount Your work at the hospital is much appreciated and my sincere empathy in being let down today after dealing with what has to be an extremely stressful daily work life for you.

Perhaps perhaps not but that does not explain why I have received several “delivery attempted” prior to the virus when the driver probably did not even get their butt out of the vehicle

Good to hear you corals arrived safe. And there is a good chance they did not even come to the door. Get you one of those video doorbells that are motion activated. However be warned you will get upset when they say delivery attempted yet never even came to the door
