Originally, I had no intention of joining this competition. However, the petco $1/gallon sale hit at the perfect time, and I've been looking for an excuse to put together a new office tank. So, without further ado.....

My 20 gallon SPS only nano:

The tank is a 20 high, and the stand I got from a local reefer. I used only base rock, with a little bit of "mud" from my LFS rock bin to jump start the cycle. Currently, the tank is still cycling after being set up on July 5. I plan to move my 17 small SPS frags from my 4 gallon pico to this tank when its ready.

This is a bare bottom, sumpless tank.

Equipment:

Filtration
- cheapo Boyu protein skimmer purchased from ebay years ago. I had it sitting around, so why not? I stuck a filter sock over the return pipes because I needed some sort of filtration, and I couldn't figure out how else to get rid of the micro bubbles from this cheapo skimmer.

Lighting:
- currently I have a 24" 2 bulb t5 fixture over the tank that used to be used for a refugium. No blue light yet. I'm currently working on repairing an LED fixture to go above this tank, so it'll be having a major update soon.

Water Movement:
- 1x Jebao WP10 wavemaker.

Heater:
- 200 watt heater I just happened to have.

All base rock purchased from Marcorock.com

Working on it. Pics are on my phone, but my app was freaking out, so I had to post the big text on the computer.

Update. Got a better light installed, but I'm still not happy with it.

All my sps frags moved from my pico to the new tank. Added a tricolor fairy wrasse. Also moved my ywg and peppermint shrimp.

Still haven't figured out how to get rid of the filter sock without using a sump.
