Well, about time I started sharing some of my chalices again. These are newer ones for the most part, I lost most of mine a few years ago but I have a couple left and have been acquiring some new ones. I am not a rainbow chalice collector. I like pretty solid colors for bright contrasting eyes.

These pictures are all with t5's and reefbrites:

one of my oldies that still survives

And of course you can't beat a pink watermelon

I will gather more pictures up and share them shortly.

Hey everyone just have a few questions as I start my chalice adventure.

Tank is lit by two reefbreeders type 32 in and is a 180.

I have four chalice on a corner frag rack near the top two inches of water so I can feed them. Not sure what the par is but it is very low since the leds are a ways away and pointed down. Is this ok in your opinions or should I have frags on bare bottom. If I should move them is my light too strong. I have read white leds are chalice killers I have blues peak at 100 three hours and whites peak at 30 for three hours. Ramp is about 4 hours on each end.

Will growth be slower over putty than over there own skeleton or a aragonite tile. They are currently on wwc plugs and I am going to pop them off soon and put on aragonite tiles to grow out a bit. Should I put putty around frag to make it look more natural or let them grown down themselves onto tile. I assume over putty will this slow growth.

Some of them have visible eyes where others not. I assume they are different type of chalices. Can anyone identify if they are oxypora, mycidium, echinopora im sure I spelt all those wrong

Thanks

I took par readings when I purchased these leds. I think I only did 50/50 and 100/100 but it would give me an idea. I will try to find them in my reef paperwork. I didn’t think par meters with leds worked to well so I kinda tossed the reading aside so I guess I should find them

I just mounted my new chalices to tiles last night and put putty around them. I will post some photos. Any tips on how to take good photos with iPhone or iPad. Or should I get out my slr.
