But first and foremost thank you all for the warm welcomes.

I have an algae problem. I've raised my lights. I cut the time down. I even turned down the brightness everything else is balanced.
So I tested the water. Nothing is off the salinity between 1025-1027 i have one wave maker. It's a 65 gallon with a 407 cartridge. Please help me and my aqua baby's...

Its not the lights, we all have lights. It is usually increased nutrients and organics and lack of cleaning crew.

Algae also likes low flow, so it might help to add another powerhead.

Pictures and parameters and more info on your tank and filtration will help us help you.

That tank is only a month and a half old canister was bought at the same time brand new everything.

Canister filters can and do work. (had to get that out of the way first didn't want to start a thing) But most dont clean them enough and they build up detritus adding to the nutrient levels.
no one said otherwise...LOL.
OP has 3ppm No.....lights dont make a difference, so leads one to believe tank is new"ish...and going thru its phase....

Yeah I know but you know how it can go.
3ppm of nitrate probably is not right the algae is consuming it. But you are probably correct its a new tank and sounds like a new reefer so yeah just ugly phase. Just hoping it doesnt get out of hand. Clean the can!
