I just bought a used RO/DI unit but I'm renting and can't tap it into the plumbing. Does anyone have an extra sink faucet connector with the side diverter that they don't need/aren't using. This is what I'm looking for: Chrome Faucet Diverter Valve - English I would rather not have to buy one online and have to wait a week to get it. Plus I would like to avoid the additional $6.50 for shipping.

I just bought a used RO/DI unit but I'm renting and can't tap it into the plumbing. Does anyone have an extra sink faucet connector with the side diverter that they don't need/aren't using. I will caution you on two things:
a) watch out for the plumbing under the sink. I've blown lines under an apartment sink before using an RO/DI on a sink. Those lines sometimes aren't strong enough to withstand the pressure you need to operate the unit at proper pressure.
b) make SURE you measure the TDS on a used RO/DI unit. You don't know if the membranes/cartridges are still good so it's essential that you make sure your TDS is good before you use the water on your tank! If it didn't come with a TDS meter, I would encourage you to get either a handheld TDS meter or preferably an inline TDS meter. Both are like $30 and absolutely one of the best accessories you will ever buy for your tank.

Also, thanks for the heads up. The guy I bought it from gave me new DI Resin and a new first-stage filter. He said the others were still good. I am going to buy a handheld TDS meter this week if I can find any place that sells them.
