I want a 2nd acro!

Afternoon all! So, as the title states, I am thinking about getting a second acro! My tank is mostly fish and soft corals. I have a handful of LPS, and one small PC rainbow acro that seems to be doing really well, and growing. So I am thinking about getting another one. Can y'all give me some ideas of newby, easier ones to try? I am not new to saltwater at all, just new to SPS.

I vote Green Slimer.

Yes, it can grow like a weed, but I think that's just what beginner SPS havers need!

It's also very affordable, some hobbyists in your area will give those away, they have great PE, and the color is unmatched!

This sps would be worth $$$ if it weren't such a hardy fast grower.

For some people growing like a weed is bad, for me it’s perfect because it fills up the tank!

OP, outside of acropora, I suggest stylophora and Montipora digita! Forest Fire digi is a classic and is stunning!

If you run a whiter spectrum, I like the tricolor Valida.

As a different perspective, find a vendor that keeps their sps parameters as close to yours as possible and just get corals you’ll like and want to keep for a long time. Doesn’t really matter if it’s easy and fast grower if you don’t find it attractive in your tank because then it just becomes a burden. Also an easy coral at a vendor might not be able to adjust to your parameters in time before the polyps bail out if the differences are too great. I think where you get corals can be just as important as what you get. This is coming from someone who lost corals and money before figuring this out.

Very nice! I think I have decided on a Gatorade Acro! They look amazing! Pretty inexpensive, so Fingers crossed!

are you in the DMV area? I get there regularly for work. I could always bring a few frags with me. Green Slimer, SBB lavender/green milli, Milka stylo, TSA bill murray, some various anacroporas (top of my head - easy for me to frag).

I am! I am in southeast Virginia. What is the lavender/green milli? sounds interesting.

So I pulled the proverbial trigger on a Gatorade acro! It will be delivered next Wednesday. I will post some pics once I get it set up. Thanks to everyone and the idea. When I first set this tank up about a year and a half ago, I really, REALLY wanted nothing to do with SPS ! But now that my PC rainbow acro given to me from a friend seems happy, it is like a challenge to me from my tank! IT is is saying "hey, let's see if you can be this successful twice" I guess I got that itch now.

Slimer, as people have already mentioned. Voodoo majick, mattv jellybean, pc rainbow, and miyagi torts too. We sell quite a bit of those, and they grow well in service account tanks without much effort.

Also Acropora turaki and red dragon seem hardy and fast growing.

How about anacropora? Very hardy and grow like a weed in the right conditions and you can plant it on sandbed.

Currently one of my favorite corals. The yellow pop of yellow in the Goldenrod anacropora would cost you hundreds in the acro world.

I grew up in that area! Doesn't help you now cuz I can't drop off frags from where I am. But hey, Virginia is for Acro Lovers!
