You made a pertinent, relevant, and logical case. Obviously, people are going to ignore this.
Well they're on to bashing EVs, but anyway, he doesn't understand what PPM is. Hard to have a conversation about global warming if you can't understand simple concepts like PPM, or why you get a different answer from a 60 year old scientist and a 30 year old scientists when you ask them about climate change 'within their lifetime'.

I'm in medicine. In order to complete my PhD, I had to complete a valid scientific research study. The data and information collection put me in a place that gave me insight to research medicine and how hard it is. Not only that, but how lowly paid they are as well. Most of these research scientist are paid with only the proper reference listed in the book or journal. Every time I hear someone say "follow the money" regarding research and science, I know immediately, they have no real knowledge of either. Now, pharmaceuticals, thats who nother ball o wax.

Yes you are very correct about big pharma but there certainly may be ulterior motives when discussing climate change and the key motive is Money along with complete government control.

Definitely. I keep reading about "new battery technology", but even if there is any kind of breakthrough in non-lithium technology it's still at least 10 years away from any practical application.

No Sure and the only superchargers I care about are the ones in my boats. Wonder if anyone has even considered how EV is going to impact the recreational boating industry. C'mon sheep wake up....
Ha ha …yeah I won’t be boarding a “Electric airplane” no time soon either

My son in law probably drives at least 120 miles each day in his Tesla to work and back. So many things reduce his range to and the the EV manufacturers fail to mention these unless you read the small print I guess.
You definitely can't drive EVs the same way as gas/diesel - especially in winter. Two of the biggest sinks in winter are the heater and defroster (other than the cold sapping away at the battery). Strangely enough, the AC in my i4 is actually very efficient and doesn't place much of a drain on the battery.

You can't really draw comparisons between Scandanavia and North America (outside of the cold). Unless you've lived in some of the really remote parts (Alaska, Northern Canada) you honestly can't appreciate the lack of infrastructure (and I'm talking about things like roads - not EV chargers).

I'm pretty sure remote areas of Scandinavia can be just as lacking as northern America. (no offense to either countries)

I don't ever think 100% conversion to EV is doable. But to get the cars in cities to EV where the infrastructure is there will do a whole lot for the planet.

It is just not possible to have EVs function properly in remote cold places

Not sure of that. Here is an Swedish article (Swedish - but Google translate can help). One of the findings is that EV lose around 1/3 of the range ift it is -20 degree C outside.

We have tested in the Arctic Falls test facility where we used their freezer garage to freeze the cars to minus 20 degrees during charging. Then we wait until it is at least 20 degrees cold outside before we drive. That is better than I thought, but I also do see the value in the ease of use of gasoline vehicles in remote areas. And since most pollution comes from bigger cities where EVs can thrive, I think it's all right to have the adoption of EVs be slower in remote areas.
