Non sense. The purpose of competition is to measure ones skills and prowess against competitors and kick the hole lee slap out of them. IT's an embrace of the Darwinian ideal of survival of the fittest. The losers represent blind evolutionary experiments that fail in the end.

To the victor goes the spoils, and sharing them means the victor is benevolent. Ironic that is the Easter Story for those who believe it. Others got nothing.
