I spent this past week researching on what makes a thread go “viral.”

Here’s what I’ve learned:

It must be controversial, it must fuel some debate, it must feel relatable, and it has to get people thinking.

I’ve been brainstorming a ton. I have several thread ideas, but I’m either out of time, luck, or passed my limit before it’s just considered spam.

I made 2 threads this week to try and cast my net, but I think @Troylee or maybe you is gonna win. Your threads are on fire.

Very succinct conjecture. However, to truly break into the realm of virality I think you missed one of the criteria qualia. The controversy must be both ephemerally benign and inane, or have been previously argued ad nauseum a 'la:

What is the best salt mix? Should I quarantine my xyz?

OOR, have a metric boat load of true eye-candy pics with some crazy claims of how that was accomplished and everyone else's method is dog-water.

yours is falling close to science. that has kept me from contributing much (have I said anything?), as potentially controversial as it may be. perhaps something along the lines of "if you don't treat your coral for infection, you don't like them". That said, I don't treat my coral with antibiotic because it's hard to see bacterial infection, they just recede and die.
