Good to know the middle port is the right port to put it in. How much rodi water are you putting in? I've read 5ml.

I would say between 5-10 ml.

If I open the air valve wider on my skimmer, will my co2 scrubber work better?

For me it's getting better everyday.
Last 24 hrs low is 8.04 and high of 8.28 with avg of 8.16.

I have a medium size scrubber. Been using for a few months, works great. pH from 7.9ish to 8.3ish. I have added up to 20 cc of RODI but with the air flow it evaporates in just a couple of days. Does anyone add extra water after the first dose? I have the output hose in the center but not sure it matters once the water evaporates.

I have not added any water since setup. It did evaporate after a couple of days. I am leaving it alone as Icecap does not mention anywhere to add water.

I installed this tube today. It basically sucks moist air from the skimmer cup all the time back down the tube to the bottom of the scrubber and up the media to the venturi of the pump.
This way I never have to fill the water in the scrubber and the air is always moist entering the scrubber.

I installed this tube today. It basically sucks moist air from the skimmer cup all the time back down the tube to the bottom of the scrubber and up the media to the venturi of the pump.
This way I never have to fill the water in the scrubber and the air is always moist entering the scrubber.

I did that first. It turned out that the tube I used filled my media and ruined it because it was the drain.

So on my reef octopus collection cup, there are 2 ports.
1 is definitely drain. As it's on the bottom of the cup.
2nd (one i am attached to) is an overflow drain. It's tube is just as high towards the lid. It's a secondary drain in case the cup fills up and main drain is clogged etc then the cup will fill up and overflow through this drain.
Changes of that in my setup, well never say never so could happen but in 30 yrs of reefing I have never overflowed a skimmer cup.

Did a water change last night pH jumped to 8.29 briefly.
Windows are closed.
Had 2 people over for a bit last night.
Extra 2 dogs stayed over and we slept in the basement where the tank is because of the dogs. My low pH was 7.89 this morning. Haha

I’m so glad I happened upon the article. I’ve been trying to figure this out for months. Your original post was 2 years ago and still no information on you tube, BRS or anywhere I’ve looked for instruction. I received this for Christmas and here we are in mid-February. I tried last week to attach my icecap CO2 scrubber to my icecap protein skimmer. No instructions anywhere. I tried connecting it to the collection cup and my scrubber ended up full of nasty water. I feel like it would be easy to connect to products from the same company. But nope. I’ve reached out to coralvue for guidance.

Sorry to ask but where in the collection cup did you connect the scrubber? On my skimmer, I bought a 3D printed part instead of drilling the lid myself and putting in a barb. Wherever you connect it just make sure it’s a relatively part section of the cup. Mine is essentially connected at the top side of the skimmer collection cup

If u need any pics just LMK and I can help but hooking up the icecap scrubber should be pretty easy.

Update after few days to weeks.
Not that I have connected the tube to my skimmer. There is always few ml of water on the base of the canister. And I haven't seen any more color change or exhaustion of media.
pH now stays low of 8.1 and high of 8.3 and avg of 8.2ish

My pH lows was getting lower at 7.88 & the media looked almost exhausted so I changed it out last Saturday. Weirdly, my pH is still getting down to 7.88 at night instead of the 7.97 I had the previous week. Still getting a high around 8.25 ish.. so just bigger swings?

You are supposed to add 1-2 tablespoons of RODI to the bottom of a Co2 Scrubber.

Why do you add that rodi water what is it suppose to do?
Running the pellets will draw humid air so really it’s not going to do anything imho

BRS suggest it to keep it moist
