Was just at my LFS to grab some hermits, snails and a cleaner shrimp that was on hold for me and they had this in the frag tank. Told me it was a red blasto and had it priced at $20. It's easily as big as my hand and still fairly shrunk at the tike of this picture. Looked way bigger in the tank.

Great specimen and amazing price.
Keep it at a shadow area and learn how to feed it.

They charge twice that at my local fish store for specimens 1/3 the size! You scored a nice piece !!!

I don't think the lady who got it for me knew what was going on to be fair. She isn't normally at that store when I stop in and they have their frags set up on different shelves and marked "Priced per shelf unless otherwise noted". There was no writing on the tank special for it so she priced it for the shelf it was on.

That's an amazing price for a colony of blastomussa wellsi. Nice score.

Never mind the price. It’s not a big deal if you don’t take care of it.
IMO blastos are great and easy corals but you must give them a good environment.
Study them and enjoy their growth.

Blasto. Normally around £20 a head in the UK.

Been almost two months since it went in and it appears to be extremely happy. Lot of new growth showing up and it's always nice and fat. Looks much better than it did in the frag tank at the store.
