So I keep thinking of this Idea. Would need backing by a company or brand to even do it though. I keep thinking of something like a lazy river but salt water for people to go through filled with fish. More or less an indoor place to snorkel and dive. I live no where near an ocean. Not sure what kind a traffic something like that could or would generate. Plus I don’t want to turn my hobby into a job.

Hmmm...

So you basically want to have a 10 million gallon fish tank and invite people to come swim in it?

There is a snorkel pool at a resort I stayed near in Guam. It was a neat idea but not very natural at all. I imagine the fish find it less than exciting

There was a place that did this is So Cal 30 years ago, I think it was called Marine Land.

You would have to make people go in naked after scrubbing the lotions and potions off their body or they could nuke the pool.
I would post a visual but this is a USA family friendly site. *-*

Yeah you would have to some how get people rinsed off but I think this could be done by forcing people to go through an entryway to get in. You could have shower heads spraying or a small pool. I also think filters running on the pool would make a difference and not just normal pool filters. Last the size of the pool would effect the concentration of contamination.

First of all...that would be fun.
Secondly...all I can think of is children (and some disgusting adults) peeing in the water.

Yeah you would definitely need some kind a water filters. I’m sure UV and one really big skimmer as well. I guess the real first question would be could you even get enough people to keep a place like that a float.

In my mind it would be cool to have something like this as an experience and to education people.

There are plenty of reasons not to do it like maintenance, liability, insurance, etc.

...but it is an interesting idea and others have done it so it seems like it is worth at least exploring!

I think you should set one up in Washington, DC. It gets a huge amount of tourism and parents need to take the kids someplace "fun" at least one day of vacation instead of visiting all the monuments and museums. Although the Washington Monument would be super cool for the children if Spider-man swung in to save the day like he did in the movie. I was there last week for a work conference -- He never showed. :(;Spiderman

That’s basically my thoughts
