Ok so I go to college and I am home for the next few days. While I’m away my parents have been taking care of my tank. Now that I’m back I’ve noticed that my GSP frag got tipped over and grew all over a large central rock structure I have. Luckily this structure dosent have any corals on it yet but I really need to remove the GSP. So here’s my idea what if I removed the entire structure and set it out of the water water for a couple hours. My thought process is that this would for sure kill the GSP but keep at least a little kit of the bacteria in the rocks alive.

If you guys think this is a really bad idea please tell me.

Thanks!

I think the nutrients and amonia and toxins from the dead/dieing coral would be a problem when putting the rock back in the tank. If you could take out the rock and quickly scrape away and hydrogen peroxide the gsp then swish the rock in a bucket of saltwater several times to get rid of gsp and peroxide residues the rest of the bacteria in the rock would be fine just not near the cleaning spots.
