Identifying My Clowns

I’m attempting to identify my clownfish (new to saltwater). The pair were sold to me as a designer percula and a misbar percula however I’ve heard them be called DaVinci as well.

I want to introduce the right anemone to them but I’ve read some variations of clowns only pair with certain variations of anemone.

Could you guys help identify them?

From what I have read, its that Ocellaris and percula can pair with Anemones (for example BTA) that are not their Natural Hosts (like heteractis magnifica, which can get really big). From what I know the „Designer names“ such as DaVinchi or misbar should Not make a difference about what Anemone is fitting.

youve got a picasso and likely a misbar percula, both amphiprion percula.

i would suggest you stick with a bubble tip anemone as this will be the most forgiving species to work with and should be accepted by your clownfish as well.

Designer clowns of different species have different names (yet look similar):

Ocellaris = Davinci
Percula = Picasso

As previously mentioned, since your clownfish appear to be percula, your darker clownfish is a Picasso, most likely Onyx Picasso given the larger amount of black.

Regarding an anemone host, I agree that BTAs are the easiest to keep, just know that the clownfish may or may not use it as their host, and/or it may take them a long time to "find" the BTA. This is in contrast to a natural host anemone (H. magnifica aka ritteri or S. gigantea aka "gig") which IME there is an almost instant connection.
