Just glad that PTR didn’t win. Brand new vendor here with an influx of votes… reef2reef really outdid themselves with their moral compass this time.

PTR has been around a long time in general, per OP, is buddies with Adam and does the Battlebrushes (my favorite piece of kit). PTR just like BC sends out grownout pieces too. So it was definitely everyone does a great job and deserved to win, but yes BC is awesome and that's indicated by the votes.

You missed my point. In terms of reef2reef is a relatively new vendor not in general. This is meant for reef2reef.

No, I get that, but this is meant to be a celebration of vendors doing really good things in the hobby that are on R2R, regardless of time on the forums, no?

My point is let's be positive because there are other great vendors on that list too.

I don’t disagree with that at all and would consider checking them out. My point is I’ve never seen them mentioned on reef2reef before and I believe this was for reef2reef.

Yeah, absolutely I mean just like I mentioned in the first post Terrill and I go way back. we are absolutely friends. There is no animosity between us and we are in no way rivals in this game at all

in a lot of ways he’s kinda like the 2013 ish version of me, just with way more charisma and better looking lol and I support what he’s doing 100%.

I may have said it before, but the hobby needs more farmers, like Terrill and less choppers.

R2R admin folks had given PTR a hard time in the past, I believe because of his company name, but he is a great guy and have actually met him at a frag swap event a few years ago… Terrill and his wife are super nice people, very patient/helpful with customer questions too. And he has the best mustache in the reefing community!

I have nothing against PTR, I think the contest was a sham and this was one way in that a vendor that didn’t exist in this forum all of the sudden got an influx of votes.

Again the whole contest is stupid because admins here suggested people email their followers etc.

I don’t think it’s much to get all worked up about, but I don’t think WWC or TSA did that. I visited WWC last week to see their displays though, they looked pretty nice

Whole heartedly agree, you farmers are the unsung heroes of this hobby!

You guys should make up a beef for the public though like the rappers in the 90's, or kind of like WWE back in the day. "your corals are pale and your skimmer doesn't skim!" "oh yeah? my sticks would straight up digest your scrawny toothpicks!"

Yeah, I get it now, because I also was thinking folks became new R2R members just to vote only and not really participate on the forum, but there’s always the possibility that R2R and PTR can kiss and make up, as well as new members will say “hey, I like this forum”. There’s really no perfect solution, but perhaps the rules will be a little different next year.

I was thinking it was just a popularity contest myself, for instance, I’m using and like Captive8 for dosing solutions, but I’ve never used Reef Moonshiners. I voted for Captive8 but really only have a couple weeks experience with them

That is a valid point. Kind of like voting in real life though, how well does joe q. public know what they are actually voting for? Not to wax political, more to say that that is the way of it generally, out in the real world.

Truth, and I’m guessing that Reef Moonshiner customers just logged in once to vote as well
