Glad you finally got a hold on your system. I respect the dedication and not giving up. This hobby will test everyone’s patience eventually. Every system has a main Algea that is growing the key is to keep it under control. I’ve been thought all the listed above as well. I prefer the GHA so my huge CUC including fish constantly have a good food source. It hasn’t been noticeable in length in a very long time

Do you have any rabbitfish? They tend to demolish hair algae. When I can get my tank to the point that hair algae is winning, that means I win because my two rabbit fish keep it entirely at bay other than in the refugium.

Hi
Unfortunately I cannot add to what has already been said.

But please hang in there and I want to hear you updates when I know you will beat this battle - and come through with the tank you desrve.

Hey feel free to Reach out whenever you want to just vent frustration
You'll get there! 😃

Yoi are on your way to beat all of the nasties. It sometimes take a bit of time to get rod off but eventually it will.

Do you have any substantial real live rock on your tank or did you start with all dry man-made??

I just had a dino outbreak last week cuz I dosed chemiclean and interceptor back to back but got rid off all of them in less than a week. Not a spec of anything!!
In my quest to fight the dinos I purchased two live rock packs from two different companies. It was costly and actually did nothing. In fact it added more maintenance to my tank overall. However I don't mind. My little macro algae ecosystem is cool. There are crabs, limpets, snails, critters, and anthropoids. I did find a baby bobbit worm who was in the return pump chamber, but I caught it. At first glance it looked like a bristle worm but it moved faster much faster and up close had the bobbit head. I pray that was it or if there were any others they have been eaten.

I agree with those that say fal back to traditional methods rather than quick fix chemicals that nuke your tank. Real ocean liverock would help if you started over.
