Very nice! I have the same SR-80 tank, looking forward to seeing your progress and maybe getting some ideas to improve mine.
Thanks! Hopefully I can get this up and running in tip top shape so I can provide ideas for you! I am still getting everything dialed in right now but hopefully Itll turn out nice!

Tank update!

Got some uglies going on the rock and sand, but nothing bad!

Bought some pods and they are going crazy in this tank. If the population stays this high I will be looking into a manderin or Ruby red dragonet. Won't do so until I get a good couple months of pods the way they are however.

Of the 4 wrasses I got from live aquaria, 3 made it past day one. Lost the red line same day they arrived. The Christmas wrasse and yellow Cori's wrasse are doing great. The radiant wrasse I have only see twice since going into the tank, and spends all day/night buried that I can tell. Haven't seen him out to eat yet either which is concerning but is alive so I'll take it.

Corals are doing very well. Like scarily so.. I'm waiting for the bad cause it shouldn't be going this easy.

Managed to snag some stellar pieces during the cherry corals live sale including some nice zoa frags and a frag of the ARC fireworks acro for $20!!!

Here are some quick photos I took earlier today using the new polyp labs coral lense and my galaxy s6 edge+ phone. Haven't had more than a couple minutes to play so hopefully they get better as I go!

Gonna be gone camping for the next 4 days so interested tosee how it looks when I get back

Tanks is looking nice. Are you able to light half that tank with the three Kessil A80's?
So far it is working okay but i wouldnt reccomend it. They are at max intensity and do not come near the same output as my LX7 on high efficiency mode. If on high output mode it looks like moonlights over there lol

They only have to keep the coral alive in that half for another couple weeks, after i deem it safe to move the last of the coral and fish over Ill put my other LX7 up and remove the kessils :)

Update! Been a busy month for me, and the tank has suffered for it. Most SPS in the tank have tissue loss from the tips. Alk is 7.5-8 and im dosing kalk so I know its not alk burn. Havent been able to do anything about it other than a small water change however so they will likely continue declining. Zoas Look good, and new heads are sprouting off of all the frags but 2, Lost the tyree rainbow and the small single headed zoa from CC. Still not bad though.

Tested calcium at 405ppm so thats a little low. Will try to dose up to 450 or so this week if i find some time.

With that said, there is already a bit of an upgrade in progress... managed to be in the right place at the right time and i pick up the 120 fatboy thursday :) I will be transitioning to this tank sometime between now and January. As such there will be some equipment changes that go along with the larger tank!! I will try to get some tank maintenance done tonight and maybe some photos so stay tuned!

NO3 / PO4 levels? Nitrate bottoming out is what set off all my current troubles.

Couldnt tell ya. Havent had a chance to test, and my test kits are expired. I would guess its lack of nitrates as well considering i have a few areas that like to grow some cyano. Have tried feeding twice a day but just havent been home enough to do it consistently. October should be slowing down for me thankfully and I should be able to get back into "tank mode" so to speak lol

Those rock flower anemones are rocking.
Nice upgrade with the new tank.

If a fish does not make it past the first day after arrival, can you claim this with the fish store or is this only possible when DOA?

Thanks!!

As for DOA it depends on the vendor . I ordered through live aquaria who have a 14 day guarantee

I like the rock work, nice and open; your reef is going to look great once it matures a bit.
