I ended up going with "Caribsea Liferock" instead of the initial concept of having live rock. I'd used it in two prior builds and really liked it. I ended up getting 20 pounds for $75! You can't top that when compared to $184 for 17 lbs. of live rock shipping. Don't get me wrong: the notion of prospective hitchhikers was exciting, but I began to worry about pests that I may pick up. This liferock should arrive by the end of the week, and I plan on using it in all three of my tanks.

Make sure to turn those new lights off and let those new rocks cure for 3 months, or your gunna have algae issues in your 3 new tanks..

Lol I ended adding the rest of the sand to the 15g. I just couldn’t stare at an empty display tank in my living room lol. I’ll leave the 2.5 shallow bare bottom tho.

hard to beat the price and quality
Yeah, I'm just space limited unless I moved my pc tower to the floor. I could do it as is, but I would lose 3 inches of desk space. Worth it in your opinion? For what its worth, i picked up my nuvo 10 when they were $100 as well and gradually upgraded it more or less to the pro standard

Nice little tank. Wished they had it when I was starting out. Have the SR 60 right now. Enjoy! Looking good so far.

I did the same thing (moving my computer to the floor) to put my 3.8 Pico on the desk. Honestly, I wonder if the 15 is too much for that desk.

Very nice!

I've had a 20 tall and my 200lb self on this desk before (but not both at the same time!) It's a 1985 Steelcase that's built like a tank lol. Here's how the legs are mounted if you're curious 20221102_195618.jpg

This will be the shroom, Zoa, softies and all cool little macro algaes. Any suggestions on a livestock for this 2.5G?

I got a 5x5" sheet of GSP and a Kenyan Tree frag for free from a fellow reefer in Seattle. I will post pictures soon after they settle into the 2.5 shallow reef

good luck with the build. I got a IM 15g since it was so cheap and I had some extra stuff laying around. Didn’t even scape it, just threw stuff in and fired it up
