They now have Solenoid V2 together with updated firmware to fix this not uncommon issue.

So a little update. I sent the unit in for repairs, They put new firmware and new solenoid in the unit and it works just fine now. You might wanna contact them,
My unit is 2 weeks old. So unless they have a new since then solenoid… I emailed them a little bit ago. Frustrating. Maybe it’s a simple clog.

when your unit starts, does it make clicking sound?

Then most likely its V2. maybe its just clogged or solenoid might have gone bad
@Dr. Reef , well, how about this - I received a very fast response. They are taking care of it and are standing behind it. So, you/ we expect that. However, it appears they are still having solenoid challenges and already isolated my problem based on my feedback. They follow my instagram and I have communicated with them. I’m pretty impressed they were aware I was leaving to go out of town. The unfortunate thing is - my unit is two weeks old. I leave tomorrow for 11 days. They did offer to rush it, over night if I was willing to swap it. That’s a solid response, and I am happy to work with them on this. But it is disappointing that this has happened. But I guess it’s better today that on my 4th day away and try to get someone to trouble shoot it. I don’t have enough RX for that. Anyway. I give iND an A+ for the way they are standing behind their product and service. They are responsive after hours, I can’t expect more. Honestly, while I am disappointed that this unit failed, ultimately, it’s likely won’t cause me to have any real frustration over the event. We have a guy who chase down and idea. Hats off, this is part of the hobby. It’s not like there are anyone else really doing this. What grounded my thoughts on this was the fact I have 10 XR30s that cost WAY F’ing more than this feeder and have the absolute worst performing platform that is used to manage these things. Well anyway. Very frustrated, but I’m still a fan.

After backing the kick starter, getting the unit, sending it back for firmware updates, I finally got mine out of the box to try it out. So far I'm really happy with the unit. I didn't try it before the recall/update.

I work from home so my plan is to really only use it for trips or weekends away. I figure that will lower wear and tear and make it function longer.

Wondering if I am having the same problem, new unit ordered a month ago, worked for initial clean and about 3 feedings, hopefully it can get figured out equally quickly. I intend to use this as the primary feeder with multiple daily feedings

Mine is on its way back. They have been great to work with. I just look forward to getting the bugs worked out. I do say though, I really like it when it works.

they havent been on the forum in some time now.. I am beginning to wonder if these things will ever come back in stock!

They have been coming in stock in waves. They typically say when the next wave of feeders is about to hit.

Got mine a month ago and been running it for a few weeks. One word to describe it... AMAZING! Easy to setup and then I just restock it weekly. I now feed frozen twice a day.

I seem to miss each time it's in stock :downcast-face-with-sweat: Wish they'd do a preorder

Hi everyone, we've been working hard to increase production of the aF4 to meet demand. As many of you know, earlier units required firmware updates, and we've taken your feedback seriously to deliver the best version of our current model.
We’re continually working to innovate our technology and features to make your fish feeding experience as simple and reliable as possible. For a faster response to general questions, feel free to email [email protected]. We sincerely appreciate your support!

I currently own 2 of these units and will likely purchase more. In fact I wouldn't mind putting them to use in my commercial setup.
There are a few things we have discussed there on the forums and also i have been in touch with their team regarding my personal opinion and experience. They have mode some changes and some are to follow. So far response has been great and this is a product much needed in the industry.
They have been very responsive via email and customer service has been excellent.
Watch for that email when they announce when product is on website for purchase. It normally won't last 15 min.

The new frozen cube feeder by Manta systems will be much better for your setup. And likely better for most. No chance of rotten food. Minimal failure chance.

Can you PM me some info please

Now the leyword pump articles she was posting make sense.... generating backlinks for a commercial venture. I called it out, and people called me mean... lol.

I’ve had a great experience with Ind, great customer service and frankly I don’t want to be limited to cubes. I’ve had extremely great success chopping up rods, which is what I have fed for ages. Yes, I will toss in cubes from time to time, but, I absolutely don’t want to make my own cubes out of rods. I’m glad there are alternatives on the market. What was your exact experience with your AF4?
