Indian ocean regal angelfish

Indo pacific grey chest are know for being caught with chems, dieing a few weeks/months after you get them, and never adjusting or eating in aquariums. Red sea and Maldives are the ones you want. Has nothing to do with looks, has to do with it's chances of staying alive long term.
I've found that in the last couple years the Indo-Pacific ones have been doing better. I don't know if capture methods have changed or if its for some other reason, but it has improved.

I have both, and the Blue chest are doing just as well for me as the Yellow chest also.

thanks for the replies. I ahad read the red seas were better in reef tanks but at a price hike most places plus I wanted a pretty small one which are hard to come by. I did decide to go with a potters so the regal will be put on hold unless I upgrade the tank size.

I bought my juvi’s from liveaquaria for around $150 each and they are doing pretty well so far. I’d been four months or so now and they nip on my sticks every once in a while. But I wouldn’t put them in my LPS tank with all the candy canes and chalice.

I got this regal around 1" in size.
Actually I got 2 regals, both are 1" juveniles.
First one started nipping at my corals around 2" in size.
I sold it and got this one.
This one also nip at my corals when he is about 3" big.
I just give up, keeping the fish.
And got more angelfish and butterflyfishes.
My tank only have mushrooms right now that survived.

Does anyone have experience with the pattern changes of regal angel growing up?
Mine started with the same pattern on both sides.
Later changed on one side with a bit of misbar.
He is now 4.5", have been in the tank 2 years, I assume he is 2.5 years old.
Will the pattern keep changing?
When does it stop changing?
When is the age they are considered as adult?
