I would say you are lacking flow if you are getting algae there

If the patch doesn’t grow and kill more tissue, you may have to just live with it, all big colonies eventually develop dead spots.
If it spreads, i would trim and frag
Lugols is a very high concentration of iodine, I would not apply that directly to a coral, a dip may help though.What about a couple drops of Lugols on the spot?
