Furan 2 is started, I’ll do the Fungus Cure bath tonight after work. Any recommendation on if I should try medicating any food with Focus?

I think I would just try the meds in the water column for now. If you don’t see much improvement from the furan-2 alone, can add in Triple Sulfa or Sulfaplex... but expect it to wipe out your bio-filter and get bio-spira and some prime just in case.

She tolerated the fungus cure bath pretty well but this morning she was on her side swimming in circles on the bottom of the tank. [emoji52]. I probably should have euthanized but I didn’t have time before work. We’ll see what awaits when I get home from work.

Hoping for the best, but that’s not a good sign... antibiotics can be rather slow-acting in fish and the quick progression of the bruising on the other side was not good either. There’s probably not much that would have really helped, but you’ve done everything you could :(

Eye looks much better, wound looks much better. However, she is spiraling around in the water. :( Have you ever seen/heard of a fish recovering from his or should I put her to sleep? I don't want her to suffer and she does not look well.

If the eye and bruising are looking better, I think I’d give it overnight maybe. It could be neurological... it looks like it smacked into something. Use the salvage protocol and hope for the best.

It might get better overnight, if not can always euthanize tomorrow. You are the one there in person though, so if you feel she is only suffering - no one would blame you.

Unfortunately she passed away while I was out of town for work over the weekend. Sucks but I appreciate everyone’s help.

It’s very strange. I can’t seem to get a fish to survive more than 3 years in the tank. By contrast I have a healthy 10 year old clownfish in another tank. It’s not like reef triggers, yellow tangs or melanurus wrasses are particularly difficult to keep.

One last question, where do you buy clove oil?

Most pharmacies carry it - May have to ask for it at the counter. Also most health food stores have it.
