Is it normal for an inkbird to swing 2 degrees even when its set for 1?
It seems to be all over.

Model number? There are different algorithms. Most for aquarium use turn on until they hit set point, then off until another setpoint.

If you want a rock solid option for a heater/cooling controller and you don't have an aquarium controller, I suggest you look into Aqualogic.

Can it not be set less than 1f?

If you change to Celsius it works out a bit lower.

but yeah the swing can be quite large, I have mine set for a difference of 0.3 Celsius but the swing is around 0.8 Celsius.
I believe they have designed it this way to reduce the on/off cycles, I received a reply from Inkbird which said as much.

I haven’t set up my InkBird yet but will most likely set it up as an emergency turn off instead of actually controlling the heater temp since my Eheims have temp control. I think you can turn off the 72 hour ‘on’ alarm now or at least it looked like it in the manual.

Inkbird 306T
It's on a 170gal with a BRS 600wt heater.
I had a 800wt finnex and it swung the same but pulled way more amps due to a bigger heater.
The sets I have are
78 target
Ts1 78
Ds1 1
Ca -.06
Cf f
Tr 0
1 degree is the lowest it will go
It's hooked up to an apex classic for overall high temp
