Innovative Marine Skimmer overflowing

I recently purchased the innovative marine desktop skimmer. After plugging it in, seconds later it is overflowing. Anyone know how to turn it down?

Man that has some bad reviews! No manual? You could try raising the skimmer a little or just keep draining it until it stops picking up whatever is in the water causing excessive skim.
