I installed the BRS water saver kit to my 6 stage BRS RO/DI system. I had the pressure gauge before the first membrane and it read 75 PSI, I do not have a booster pump. This morning when I got up I heard a loud noise from where the RO/DI is installed under my sink. The gauge is glycerine filled and was bouncing back and forth, like from water hammering or something. It seemed fine last night. The water coming into the RO unit when this noise occurs is at 75psi. The noise seems to be coming from the auto shutoff valve, it will bounce around in your hand. I have went back and checked the video and it appears I have everything plumbed correctly, both membranes are new.

I think I know what is causing this after reading. My membrane came in damaged but I did not worry much about it. It appears that fitting is actually a check valve and I just used a fitting from my bag of spare parts, could this be causing it? If it is the problem I need to call BRS.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
