Hello, so I mixed up a brute garbage can with ro and Instant Ocean at a salinity of 1.025 (checked with 2 refractometers) and also use a mag drive 24, jebao wp-40 and finnex 200 watt heater set to 78 as always. Anyways I tested mag, alk, cal to see what they were caused I recently started using dosing pumps (maybe a month now) and got

Mag 1500 or more (Salifert)
Alk 9.6 (Salifert)
Cal 470 (Salifert)

I mixed the salt yesterday at 3pm and tested at 7pm. Left it circulating and just tested now ang got the same readings.

I dose my tank 4 times in 24 hours
3am alk 32 min
4am cal 32 min
9am alk 32 min
10am cal 32 min
3pm alk 32min
4pm cal 32 min
9pm alk 32 min
10pm cal 32 min

Tank readings are every day at 5pm
Mag 1395
Alk 8.75
Cal 430

What should I do with dosing pumps and water change? Tank is 125gal with 55gal sump sps only and am planning the water change at 3 or 4pm. So in like 1 1/2 -2 hrs from now. Thanks for any insight.

I'm not convinced the IO salt measurements are correct for that specific gravity, but that said, I'd just keep dosing as is regardless of doing water changes. :)

Ok will do. I know its crazy, usually I have to add 17.5 ounces off mag and 4 ounces calcium to get 1400 mag and 430 cal. Thanks
