Just picked up a new bag
It’s mixing at
1.025
8.2 alk
490 cal
1200 mag
Would these numbers be considered acceptable for a soft/lps tank

I'd say it's fine. These tanks were started and maintained with instant ocean.

Just two of several. It's all I've used for 9 years.

EDIT: I have to admit I don't test my fresh saltwater mix and I never test mag in my tanks. I target 8-9 dkH for alk so it's perfect for that range.

Salt is fine, numbers seem off….most likely testing error if it’s regular IO

I would assume the salt has more mag than your test indicates. Mag testing is notoriously error prone.

If you raise the specific gravity to 35 ppt, everything will rise a bit, but you are fine where you are.

The calcium may also not be that high, but it is fine.

I use normal IO.
