Hello, as part of my DT setup ,I'm setting up 60 liters of quarantine tank ,mainly for SPS.
I've asked chat GPT if this product is effective against red bugs , and his answer was that this product is dangerous for corals ,because it contains not only milbemycin oxime ,but also Parziquantl and other ingredients.

Is it true ?

Yes, it is a canine dewormer. I can’t see it being good for SPS CORAL. It will definitely kill your pods.

So what version of interceptor would you recommend?
And where can I order it ?

That’s the correct one. I’m currently treating red bugs I found on a few newly purchased frags. I’ve been tracking everything Here. The steps are slightly different if you’re treating an entire tank, but you can clearly see there’s been no ill effect on the coral so far from it.

I used the single ingredient. I have used it twice. Once for red bugs long ago and once for gray bugs recently. It works corals aren’t bothered. All crustaceans will die so should be removed accordingly. I restocked my pods from my LFS who grows them and all is well 6 months later. My corals are thriving now that they aren’t fighting a parasite any longer. I used a local exotic vet who did not charge me consultation for my prescription.

Milbemycin oxine is the ingredient you are looking for. I chose the generic but interceptor makes a single ingredient product too. It’s also a hard chew that easily crushes into powder. I’m not sure how you will dissolve a chew if it’s soft.

Some hobbyists have actually reported that apart from just treating the red bugs, their coral actually seem to benefit from the treatment for some other unknown reason.

Lol. The chews are fine. I've used the pressed pill and the chews on separate occasions. Heated rodi and a small blender or whatever will dissolve the chew better before adding. Preferably, if you can obtain it, use the pill and crush it. Its used to kill red bugs/white bugs. Anyhoo....a lot of information on it on r2r. People who import or add a lot of sps regularly use it every 6 months to a year sometimes.

The chew is a pain to crush. I out it in a blender with some RO water. I have used 5x the recommended treatment with this exact product with no issues on my reefs.

I used the same type of meds. I'm my display. my sps did exceptional. It killed all my pods, and some non sps didn't do great but damage was minimal. My biggest problem was all the water changes and carbon mate my tank to clean and that's where most of my struggles came from
