I found this in my tank a couple days ago. I have been searching for an ID on it since but am still at square one. Any help pointing me in the right direction, or anyone who knows whether it is safe to keep in display would be greatly appreciated.
I thought one of my kids dropped a marble in the tank when I had first seen it but when I took it out I realized I was wrong. It was in the sand at the back corner behind some rocks. I’m not sure it would be able to climb on rocks or glass as the opening has to be tiny.
The bottom is completely flat and has the swirl pattern on it, but the top is I guess dome shaped, very smooth, shiny, and quite beautiful really.
I started the tank last year with dry rock, and nothing has went into the tank without dipping and inspecting. So I assume it had to have been tiny or and egg when it made its way in. I have it in an acclimation box in the sump for now, but have not seen it move since putting it in the box, maybe bc there is no sand?
Anyway I’m stumped, any ideas?
