Hello all, hoping everyone here had a wonderful holiday and happy new year. Been a couple decades since I had a reef system and now looking to get back in the hobby. This was a hobby my father and I shared and now would like for it to be with my children and I. Looking to start with a fowlr. Have my eye on an Innovative Marine EXT 100. Would appreciate advice on all equipment needs. Would like to purchase everything at once.

#1 start with a plan.
Getting all equipment before setup is perfect.
Equipment:
Tunze 9410dc skimmer
I run a 9430dc in my 120 but started with a 9410dc
Tunze return pump
I love Tunze powerheads but have been quite impressed with Jeabo powerheads. You can get 4 Jeabos for the price of 1 Tunze.
MP40 powerheads if you dont want cords in your tank.
Lifegaurd top flow reactor for carbon, gfo and any other media
I would get AI prime leds that clip on the back glass for a streamlined look.
FOWLR tanks dont need alot of light. 2 AI 16hds should work and look good.
Some type of net cover to keep fish in the tank.
Tunze ato with 10 gallon reservoir
Ro/di system for your makeup water.
Test kits
Tropic Marin floating hydrometer is what I use for SG.
Quality heater
IO salt
Some type of 2 part to keep alk, ca, mag stable. If you use live rock coralline will grow and eat up the big 3.

That should get you pointing in the rignt direction.
Check out build threads for more info.

Welcome to R2R!

The equipment you select for your aquarium is really based on personal preferences. Some reefers use heavy duty filtration while others are minimalist. Read up on the R2R setup guides and decide what route you would like to take. We are here to answer any questions!
