My zoas have been closed over a week. Now my Xenia and cloves are closed as well. Could I be low on iodine? Don’t currently have a test for this. Could this be a cause?

Wow that's a lot of tech for zoas and xenias. Posting a picture of the tank and some history on it might help digging further on what the issue is.

Also have torches hammer Duncan blastos favia candy cane monti caps bta etc. tank is five months old. Can’t find any pests but can’t take zoas out because they are on main rock work. Still have some diatoms present. Have tried brushing the zoas with a brush blowing with turkey baster so far

I am not as convinced as others to the need/benefit of supplemental iodine, but dosing some (say, 0.04 ppm as iodide) and seeing if there is any benefit is a fine plan.

I’ve actually seen pumping Xenia speed up the pumping action when I dosed iodine/iodide, I noticed it pretty much every time I added Lugols to a system I had Long ago. My que to add was the pumping slowing down. With that being said, I wasn’t having ICP tests done (this was 20 years ago) so I’m guessing it was low when I added, or maybe an excess of iodine made them pump faster? IDK?? I do try to maintain regular seawater levels of all my elements of anything I can test now.

Why iodine? There are so many essential trace elements (e.g. molybdenum, copper, iron), some of which are depleted very fast when not added regularly. What makes you think it's iodine?

I'm not saying it's wrong, but it seems just as likely that other parameters or changes in parameters cause these issues.
