Is egg crate and acceptable tank cover for wrasses?

Make sure to read the thread about the five biggest wastes of aquarium money before getting your wrasse. I have never had one but that thread makes me think I never should.

I think it was specifically the sixline wrasse that was a big regret. Many wrasses are wonderful additions.

This is an older thread. Thanks for the likes . So since then I used egg crate across the back (about 3 or 4 inches ) & cut notches in in for chords & overflows Works very well !

Agreed. The generally peaceful variety wrasses to me are a must to any tank that they are properly sized for. Even if I went with a small tank, I would probably have a possum or pink streaked wrasse. I have a juvie Melanurus and a Blue Star Leopard in my 90 gallon and wouldn't trade them for anything.
