Is making my return line largely loc-line a bad idea?

Had my return pump fail after 8 years. I want to take this opportunity to replace old tubing and check for any unreasonable wear. I recently acquired several feet of loc line. Any reason I can't use loc line in place of vinyl tubing? I'd still have a back flow preventer (the initial 1/4th of the return line). No fancy manifolds. I'd just run it up and curve it into the tank w/ it's flare tip adapters.

Someone please let me know if this is a terrible mistake.

I have had loc-line as the "sprayers" on a spray-bar above the tank for several years now. They leak. In my case they leak into the tank and they still allow me to direct water so I don't care, but they do not hold a seal for very long.

Just my $0.02
