No qt tank. had the tank running for about 2 years but moved the tank a few months ago. I had the anemone for about a month, and the first week or so it did fine but then it just retracted its tentacles. I tried feeding it, leaving it alone, and moving it to better spots but nothing works. Is it dead yet? I just want to know if I should remove it.

That will only be your decision
Signs to look for Not footing anymore gaping mouth for a long period also bits dropping off it and when you lean over your tank at the surface there is a smell of death rotting. Until we really get a clear picture know one can say for deflate but what I can see it doesn’t look good at all imo

Thank you for your help. This is my first experience with anemones, but I will learn from my mistake and try again someday. Thanks again

I would check to see (I can't even see 'tentacles') if the anemone 'sticks' to your finger if you lightly touch it - does it move, etc. Also. if you can bring it up to the surface (while attached to the rock if it's small enough) - if it smells dead, I would say its dead. You wouldn't want to let it be dead too long - as it will literally disintegrate. How long have you had it - what are your parameters.

Some people use cipro to treat anemones (you can search for that thread - it would be in a 'hospital tank'. I'm not sure that this one is a good candidate or not. Best wishes
