is my chalice receding or changing color

so i’ve had my problems with my chalice corals my one is doing great now and its eating daily but today i fed my other one and now it looks like it’s turning grey it started off looking like the bottom second photo

hi yes does seen to be in trouble,try lower to mod flow ,med light,are your params in check ,all other coral ok?

yea all my other coral is ok and i moved it so it’s not in full direct flow i did a water change but it was to reduce alk today so i’m thinking that was the problem

you might want to get one. alk is ok,cal will bring down slowly want that cal at about 450 :)

change for the better :cool:do a few water changes from ten into 50 before you move ;)

yea i’m gonna be upgrading in december so i dont know if it would affect the corals if i cycled that tank and then put them in or not i’m planning on cycling the tank for a month before i slowly add every

my alk is at 10 now it was 11 and i dont have a test for calcium

Most LFS's will do water tests for salt water tanks. I'd take a sample of your water and ask them to test the water based on coral measurements (calcium, etc.) not the water measurements (ammonia, nitrate, etc.).

yea it’s at 8 now i added more coral so the alk dropped
