Hi all!

About a month ago, I bought an established system and this system came with a little captive bred mandarin. The previous owner let me know that the mandarin had been in the tank for about 4 months and had tripled in size. The tank size is 30 gallons.

I would like to make sure he looks like he is a healthy size since I understand mandarins are difficult to keep. He eats frozen food and I target feed him 3 times a day with a variety of foods including mysis, LRS reef frenzy and LRS fish eggs. Every time I feed, he appears to eat a lot. I also have supplemented the tank with pods and phyto and I can see adult pods at night on the rocks if I shine a flashlight on the tank. I notice him frequently pecking at the rocks during the day.

He has no buoyancy issues and is constantly active. Parameters of the tank are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and around 2 nitrate. Does he look good (not to skinny or bloated)? Thank you very much! He's one of my favorite fishes, so I just want to make sure he is doing well.

Please ignore about the diatoms on the sand.
