Is starting a second tank a good idea

My initial plan was so start from scratch and go through the process and growing pains but, I got a pre established tank from a friend as a birthday gift (65gal salt water) and I’m loving it so far and he’s a great help when I have questions. My only concern is I feel like don’t know what I’m doing or more specifically I can tell the gaps in my knowledge. Would it be a bad idea to start a smaller “learner tank” like 30gal or something similar.

i would just keep what you have and keep learning! thats how i have done. the longer you keep at it the more ''gaps'' you will be able to fill
