Is there an API for reef2reef

Apologies in advance if this is a silly or too technical question, but I was wondering if reef2reef has an API aka application programmer's interface, its a software jargon used to describe things that allow two software to connect.
I was looking for this because I want to do a semi-automatic tank journal as part of my opensoucre reef tank controller, which when configured, will post weekly or monthly tank FTS in a particular r2r thread.

Any clues?
