No. There are both Maxima and Squamosa there. Even two or three of the ones circled by reef lover maybe Maxima. Need to examine it closer to determine for sure. I think Squamosa and Maxima range over lab there and possible that there are minor interbreed of the two species, so the line may be slightly blurry there in term of the two species. This is speculation on my part. We do know that there are squamosa/maxima hybrid raised by clam farmers. It is not unreasonable to assume that this also happen in the wild sometime and rarely there may be a fertile clam as a result.
IMO, these two are clearly Maxima rather than Squamosa

Even with the frills around the mouths?? That's generally indicative of squammys. Could def be hybrids though...

Assuming you mean the saw tooth on the edge of the afferent openings of the clams, all the clams have these projections, other than T. gigas which have smooth border on the afferent opening.

Hey, we got to support good business. Almost all of us, even vendors are in it because we love the hobby. Where would we be if all the good vendors go out of business.

Thanks a lot for the help. These Red Sea clams cost less than half of traditional blue squamosa but they're not as pretty and I am not sure how demanding they are in what concerns light, so I will keep looking.
